# Configuring Salesforce for Blinq

> Enable Notes and add Blinq fields to your Contact and Lead page layouts.

Once you connect Blinq, there are two things to set up on the Salesforce side: enabling Notes so Blinq can sync them, and adding Blinq's custom fields to your Contact or Lead page layout so they're visible in Salesforce.

Access both from the **Setup** menu in Salesforce.

## Enable Notes in Salesforce

Blinq syncs contact notes to Salesforce as Notes on the associated record. You need to enable Notes in your Salesforce account; without it, note sync won't work.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Setup">
    In Salesforce, click the **Setup** gear icon in the top right.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Find Notes Settings">
    In the Setup search bar, type **Notes Settings**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enable Notes">
    Check **Enable Notes** and save your changes.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Add Blinq fields to your page layout

<Info>
  For additional guidance on editing page layouts, see the [Salesforce Help Center](https://help.salesforce.com).
</Info>

When you connect Blinq, it automatically creates the following custom fields in your Salesforce account. They won't appear in your Contact or Lead views until you add them to your page layout.

Blinq creates the following fields automatically in Salesforce:

* **Blinq Contact Tags:** contact-level tags applied in Blinq.
* **Blinq Workspace Tags:** workspace-level tags.
* **Blinq Campaign Tags:** campaign tags from linked Blinq campaigns.
* **Blinq Campaigns:** campaign names.
* **Blinq Card Link:** a direct link to the contact's Blinq card.

You'll also want to add **Notes** to your page layout. Blinq contact notes sync directly into the native Notes feature in Salesforce, but Notes may not appear on Contact or Lead records by default.

To add Blinq fields to your page layout:

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Setup">
    In Salesforce, click the **Setup** gear icon in the top right.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open Object Manager">
    In the Quick Find search box, type **Object Manager**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select your object">
    Select **Lead** or **Contact** depending on how you'd like to sync your Blinq contacts to Salesforce.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open Page Layouts">
    Click **Page Layouts** in the left sidebar, then select the layout you want to update.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add Blinq fields">
    In the layout editor, find the **Fields** section in the palette on the left. Search for **Blinq** to filter the custom fields. Drag each Blinq field from the palette onto the layout where you'd like it to appear.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add Notes">
    To add Notes, scroll to the **Related Lists** section of the palette and drag **Notes & Attachments** onto the layout.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Click Save and you're done." />
</Steps>
